Musings of a Marked Man

Sheltering in place affords one time that needs to be filled.  Some of us choose to spend it honing our cooking skills.  This is my 2nd cook on my Kamado Joe Classic III grill.  Feel free to leave tips or constructive criticism of my grilling and/or videography skills (or lack thereof).

I enjoy live theatre!  Broadway musicals are my favorite.  There, I've said it and I'm not nearly as embarrassed by that public pronouncement as I might have been say..... a dozen years ago.  Yesterday was shaping up to be quite an enjoyable day.  My wife and I had tickets to see the National Tour of the hit Broadway show "Motown" at the State Theatre in Cleveland's Playhouse Square.  As we are circling the block to find parking we pass the Hanna Theatre and see "Les Miserables" on their marquee.  OMG, this day just got even better.  Les Mis just happens to be our absolute favorite musical of all time. Could we actually do a double feature? We will get home later than expected but the dog has plenty of food and water.  The worst that could happen is we may have to clean up an "accident" left as a message not to neglect her for so long in the future.  OK, if we can get tickets, we're doing it! I ask the young man at the ticket

We have been on a mission to eliminate HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) and hydrogenated anything from our diets lately but it is not as easy as one might think.  It is particularly hard to find buns for dogs and burgers at a supermarket without one or both.  (Obviously not trying to eliminate artery clogging red meat yet. Baby steps...baby steps)  We've tried numerous bread and bun recipes over the last few months with some success but they all took quite a long time to prep, what with the raising of the dough and beating it down only to let is rise again. (what's that about?)  Then one day while surfing the net when I should have been doing something more productive, VOILA!   40 Minute Hamburg Buns  appears on Pinterest.  I'm not posting the recipe because then I would have to give credit to the originator which means wasting time trying to track him or her down when I could be reading Facebook updates.  Suffice to say a quick search on Pinterest for the highlighted words

For some reason lately I have been thinking about the old celebrities and the characters they created. Sure every generation has their Puff Daddies but it seems to me that we had more of them, or at least they were more memorable.  So it just seemed natural to list as many as I could.  I am sure there are dozens more that I can't bring to mind but this list stood out as those who created some of the best memories of my youth.  See if you can match the popular actor to the iconic character that helped make their career. 1.  Jackie Gleason                                                  A.  Jose Jimenez 2.  Red Skelton                                                       B.  Chester A.
